2024 special project

Veduta>Roma is a modular format, with variable casts and durations, dedicated to the city and the perspective view of the urban landscape. The audience enjoys the performance through headphones, looking out to a vantage point of the city, which in the context of Fuori Programma Festival is Circo Massimo/Terrazza dei Laboratori dei Cerchi.
Urban spaces, both very near and very far, are connected by the sound track and the dislocation of the performers. Veduta>Roma is a theorem about landscape, built with a strong cinematic imprint to cross the city and redraw its perspective, transforming reality into a place with imaginary coordinates.
The sound turns the urban scene into a place that floats between the present and the possible. The viewers are plunged into a landscape that is no longer made of what is in front of them, but that becomes a whole of coincidences and configurations, a sort of a sacred allegory. Reality is simultaneously blurred and sharpen by the sound, which controls the imaginative power of vision. A place with imaginary coordinates becomes full of multiplied details.
Strange conspiracies and mysterious activities redesign the ‘here and now’ to reread urbanism through postures and signs of a different place that through the sharpness of the dances may be very near or very far, on the horizon. Indoors and outdoors.
Dance is therefore a point of view of the world; it inscribes and affirms the figure in the common space, suggesting an escape at the same time.
