THE PERFORMATIVE EYE

What is dance? Fuori Programma tries to answer this question with a timetable that offers a variety of aesthetics, artistic, and cultural backgrounds and productive methods. A dynamic approach, to open up to all the performative possibilities with curiosity, is hence necessary. The workshop led by Teatro and Critica is dedicated to vision, discussion, and critical writing. Its two main guidelines will be the narrative of the festival and educational methods, and some of its goals are to measure one’s look, to effectively use one’s own experiences, to enter into the artist’s creative world and conceive a thinking – also inspired by a collective work – through a writing that is a mediation but also an in-depth study and a resource for the future.

The scene is an empty space. The body artist can fill this empty page with ideas, rhythmic possibilities, space-related, social and political strains. For those who look with the aim of analyzing and describing, the empty page is the place to find words to restore the encounter of bodies and ideas. The workshop is open to a maximum of 12 people passionate about performative arts and cultural journalism. It will take place between June 21 and July 5 2024 with 9 encounters.
