GOUNOUJ IN SITU

Léo Lérus/Compagnie Zimarèl (GLP)

June 28 | 8 p.m.
Parco Tor Tre Teste Alessandrino

Italian premiere

Gounouj In Situ draws inspiration from the Gros Morne / Grande-Anse area in Guadalupa.
One of the characteristics of the area is that it’s a place that seems perfectly balanced, despite the human actions that jeopardize it. The issue about the preservation of our environment arouses a complex feeling that may blend sorrow, discouragement, disappointment, anguish, yet hope. All these apparently conflicting feelings resonates with the notion of saudade. Saudade [sodadʒi] is a portuguese word that has no equivalent in other languages. It describes a complex emotional state that includes nostalgia, sweet sadness, and hope relating to the passing of time. Gounouj In Situ puts this complex notion and emotion at the centre of the performance.
