VIBES #3
A dialogue between bodies, architectures and urban vibrations

Masako Matsushita (IT)

Orbe Digital Production (FR)

3rd July 19.00

Parco Tor Tre Teste

VIBES#3 is an exploratory journey to reconnect the body and the mind through the develpment of the senses and the attention towards others. Those who participate are guided through distinct sound and bodily states generating a collective experience in the urban space. This choreography and sound exploration concentrates on the activation of a perceptive body through movements, vibrations and materials present in the surrounding space. It is part of the wider VIBES project, an audio-choreographic performance, vibrant and exploratory that allows participants to meet one another and share moments of dance in a public space. Equipped with headphones and together with an app downloadable on smartphone, the dancers improvise a collective choreography guided by the warm welcoming voice of a choreographer.

VIBES#3 is the choreographic creation by the movement artist Masako Matsushita together with the taiko artist Mugen Yahiro and it sprang from the European project VIBES produced by ORBE Digital Production. The protocol VIBES#3 is a collective dance performance which inspires the creativity of the participants thanks to a sound landscape that includes the rhythm of the Japanese taiko and the noises of the urban space. An occasion to make dance an accessible practice to everybody creating interactive moments for a heterogenous public. Smartphones and headphones are enough to transform oneself into a performer and experience through new movements the space of the city. By using digital technology as a tool of analogical and sensorial interaction VIBES#3 gives the possibility to live as a group the fleetingness of time where strangers create bodily and sound harmonies despite the distances.
